Maybe you've seen Iwagumi layouts online and thought, "I could do that." You probably can. But you need the right hardscape, the right substrate, the right plants, and honestly, someone who's done it before to point you in the right direction.
That's where Pet Zone comes in. We're San Diego's very first full-scale aquascaping store, and we've been doing the Nature Aquarium thing since before it was cool on Instagram. We take a natural approach — think Takashi Amano, not "throw some Java fern on a rock and call it a day."

We're not a general pet store that happens to sell a few plants. We're freshwater-only, and our Convoy location is our dedicated aquascaping specialty store. That means:
- We're San Diego's first full-scale aquascape store. We brought the Nature Aquarium approach to San Diego before anyone else.

Our Mid-City location carries aquascaping supplies and plants too, but leans heavier on monster fish and koi. If you need aquascaping basics or want to grab plants while picking up fish, they've got you covered.

FAQ
Q: Do I need CO2 to keep aquatic plants?
A: No. Plenty of plants do fine without CO2 — Java fern, Anubias, Cryptocoryne, mosses, and many stem plants can thrive in low-tech setups. Pascal on our team specializes in Walstad and low-tech aquascaping. CO2 will give you faster growth and more demanding species, but it's not required to have a beautiful planted tank.
Q: Can you help me plan my aquascape layout?
A: Yes. Bring your tank dimensions, lighting, substrate, and what livestock you plan to keep. Our team can help with plant selection, hardscape placement, and setup guidance. We won't build it for you (unless you catch us on a workshop day), but we'll point you in the right direction.
Q: Do you sell UNS rimless tanks in-store?
