Blind Cave Tetra - Astyanax fasciatus mexicanus
The Blind Cave Tetra originates from deep caves in Mexico and has no need for eyesight (though when they are young they are born with eyes but are degenerated and absorbed back into their body) as they evolved over the years to adapt to the dark conditions in these dark deep caves.
They are a very hardy and undemanding fish, making them ideal for beginners!
