Ammania Gracilis - Red Ammania / Pink Ammania

Ammania Gracilis, commonly known as Large Ammania, Red/Pink Ammania, or Delicate Ammania, works great as a midground or background plant.  It grows fast, easy to propagate by trimming.  By frequently trimming new growth and using high light with CO2, the plant will thrive and retain a vibrant red color.  The stem and leaves can become green when there isn't sufficient lighting or iron but a liquid fertilizer is recommended to see Ammania Red in its most optimal beauty!

Propagate by trimming from the main stems and replanting into substrate.

Ammania Gracilis is a delicate and compact stem plant prized for its fine bright green leaves and vibrant growth. It is ideal for foreground and midground placement in planted aquariums adding texture density and contrast to aquascapes.

Plant Description
Ammania Gracilis features thin needle like leaves that grow densely along upright stems. With strong light and proper nutrients it develops a bushy appearance and may take on slightly reddish tones at the tips. Its small size and dense growth make it excellent for nano tanks aquascaping layouts and foreground carpets.

Growth and Care
This plant has a moderate growth rate and responds well to trimming which encourages compact and bushy growth. It thrives in nutrient rich substrates with regular fertilization and benefits from CO2 injection for faster growth and more vivid coloration.

Lighting and Environment
Medium to high lighting is recommended to achieve healthy vibrant growth. Lower light will result in slower growth and paler green leaves. Ammania Gracilis prefers stable water conditions and gentle flow to ensure nutrients reach all leaves.

Water Parameters
Temperature 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit
pH 6.0 to 7.5
Hardness Soft to moderately hard water

Planting Instructions
Separate the stems into small portions and plant individually into the substrate leaving space for light and water circulation. Regular trimming helps maintain shape and prevents lower leaves from being shaded. Initial melting may occur as the plant adjusts to submerged conditions.

Summary
Ammania Gracilis is a versatile attractive stem plant that enhances the foreground and midground of planted aquariums. With proper lighting nutrients and optional CO2 supplementation it provides lush dense growth and a natural look for any aquascape.
