Chinese Rice Fish (Oryzias sinensis)
Also known as the Sinensis Rice Fish/Killi Fish. This is one gorgeous fish that doesn't get too big and does very well in a planted tank with other peaceful smaller fish such as Celestial Pearl Danios, Dwarf Gouramis and peaceful schooling Tetras.
Keep them with a number of females as the males show beautiful colors!
The Chinese Rice Fish has been shown to provide protein in rice patties. Throughout rice farming history, the presence of Chinese Rice Fish has shown that better yields come from rice farms.
This fish was mistakenly categorized for years as part of the Japanese Rice Fish family but has since been separated and categorized into its own species class.
