Blue Dolphin Cichlid (Cyrtocara moorii) Description: The Blue Dolphin Cichlid, also known as the Malawi Blue Dolphin, is a stunning freshwater fish known for its vibrant blue coloration and unique hump head. This peaceful species is a great addition to African cichlid aquariums. They require a bit more care than some other species, making them a good choice for intermediate to experienced aquarists. Key Features: - Species: Cyrtocara moorii - Size: Up to 8 inches - Lifespan: 8-10 years - Diet: Omnivore - Water Conditions: Freshwater, 72-82°F, pH 7.8-8.6 - Behavior: Peaceful, prefers to be in small groups - Compatibility: Good for African cichlid tanks Care Level: Intermediate. Blue Dolphin Cichlids require a well-maintained tank and a varied diet to stay healthy. Diet: These fish are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. A diet of high-quality cichlid pellets, supplemented with occasional live or frozen foods, will keep them happy and healthy. Tank Setup: A minimum of 55 gallons is recommended for these fish. They prefer a tank with plenty of hiding spots and open swimming areas. Rocks and caves can be used to create a suitable environment. Very vibrant and active African cichlid from Lake Malawi.  Commonly known as the Malawi Blue Dolphin. Size is about 3-4 inches. Another unique Cichlid being the only one of its genus! These fish grow a big hump on the head and display a shiny blue body similar to the look of a dolphin. Being mostly peaceful these are a fantastic addition to an African cichlid tank. We suggest a group of 3+ for community cichlid tanks.
