This very beautiful fish originates from Sri Lanka and does very well in schools.

These are popular community tank fish for peaceful tank set ups. Originally from Sri Lanka they have been introduced into the fresh waters of Mexico and are thriving. Kept for their deep red color and schooling abilities they are best kept in groups of 10+. Growing to 2” they are a fun fish that appreciate a planted tank with room to swim around. Egg layers that will readily breed in the aquarium, females lay as many as 200-300 eggs per spawn.
