Endlicheri Bichir - Polypterus endlicheri Also known as the Saddled Bichir. They have a unique look that monster fish and oddball fish keepers like! About 2.5-3 inches roughly. The Saddled Bichir is a prehistoric looking fish, a true monster fish indeed! Endlicheri is known as a “lower jaw” type of Bichir due to its lower jaw that covers the upper lip. Coming from the still waters of Africa these fish are hardy and undemanding. Endlicheri becomes a massive fish with a heavy body that may grow up to 30”, requiring a very large tank. Bichirs are slow growing in general and can be upsized accordingly. A regular aquatic dinosaur!

Arrived in perfect condition along with an Albino Bichir the next day all the way from California to Pennsylvania. Very active and already ate a loach almost it’s size (the loach was not intended for food). Very happy with the pair and excited to watch them grow!
