Penguin Tetra (Thayeria boehlkei) This is one beautiful Tetra that loves to be in a school (recommended in groups of 5-6 or more). They do great in planted tanks with driftwood, rocks and other decor that mimic its natural environment. Size is roughly around 1" - 1.25". - [ ] Penguin Tetra: a silver fish with a bold black mark running down the lateral line to the bottom of the tail fin. Penguin Tetras are excellent schooling fish and can be balanced tank mates in groups. They are known nippers when solitary, however in groups this behavior is tamed. Similar to other tetras they originate in South America. Tetra are hardy fish that are great for community and planted aquariums.

White Cloud Minnows swapped for Penguin Tetras
I ordered a set of 10 White Cloud Mountain Minnows and 7 Penguin Tetras. I had already lost 5 Penguins in my tank from a LFS and had 2 that I was hoping would survive; however, my parameters were just not conducive to keeping these sensitive fish. Petzone was kind enough to change my order to all White Clouds, so instead of 10, I know have 15 swimming happily in my 39 gal with my Betta and my female bushynose pleco.
